The Caledon Agricultural Society was established in 1860 and operates under the authority of the Agricultural Societies Act of the Province of Ontario.  As such, the Caledon Agricultural Society must expend its funds in a manner consistent with the objectives as set out in the Act or forfeit all claims to the legislative grant.  The financial records of the Society are subject to audit each year.  As well, an audited report must be sent each year to Canada Customs & Revenue Agency to maintain our charitable organization status, otherwise we would be unable to continue issuing tax deductible receipts.
